Overview of the service

Hirosaki city offers free public wireless LAN service called

「HIROSAKI Free Wi-Fi Lite」to provide faster and easier acess to internet

network in public areas and maintreets, as well as to enhance convenience to obatian tourist information for all the visitors including foreign tourists.

「HIROSAKI Free Wi-Fi Lite」 is a service that utilizes public wireless LAN service 「Hikari station」of NTT East, and has the following features.

 

 

• It can be used regardless of the telecommunications carrier that currently contracted with your device.

• Free internet can be used for 60 minutes each time.(No limit on the number of use per day

• Any device that can connect to wireless LAN can be used for free.

• You can use it by registering your e-mail address and password.

• When the connection to the Internet is completed, the homepage of Hirosaki Tourism and Convention Bureau pops up and provides tourist information of the city.

• It allows you to download sightseeing pamphlets using the wireless connection.

• In case of a major disaster, we will release the service to be used without registration procedures.

Cautions & Disclaimers

• Connection to this service can be used only within the area which radio wave can reach from the access point. Depending on the distance from the access point or etc., there may be places where the connection is weak, inside and outside the facility.
• Users need to prepare the devcice by themselves.
• Users need to prepare the necessary power supply for the device by themselves. Power supply will not be provided at the facility.
• Users need to set the device for themselves.
• Users need to care for security of the device by themselves. (※ Please refer to「About security policy」below.)
• Users are responsible for paying services that the user has used on the Internet through this service.
• If you move the access point or do not use the service for more than one hour, you will need to log in again.
• Hirosaki city does not hold any liability for any damage and loss caused by using this service, and for troubles and claims caused between user and other users or third parties.
• Hirosaki city does not hold any liability when service is unavailable because of the model of the device or the browser you use.
• The access point may be suspended or canceled without notice to users due to equipment or network failure. Please note.
• Hirosaki city does not hold any liability for any damage suffered by the user or a third party due to the use or suspension of this service.

This service offers unencrypted (password-free) network so that all the visitors to Hirosaki can have easy and equitable access to online information and internet services. Please beware of the security risks (information leaks) from using public Wi-fi and transmitting personal information on your own responsibility (credit card PIN numbers, other login IDs and passwords)

About Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi

It is a free App for Android or iOS devices which can connect to public wireless LAN at access points such as municipalities, stations, airports, hotels, convenience stores that are scattered throughout Japan.  After register for use once (email address required), you can easily search for a nearby Wi-Fi spot. You can connect to Wi-Fi with one tap when you arrived at the access points.

 

1. Install the app.
2. Open the app at「HIROSAKI Free Wi-Fi Lite」access point and tap「Connect」.
